As a financial investor in Paris between 2016 and 2019, I could assess the growth of the French startup ecosystem both with the rise of projects but also an increasing amount of funds invested in early stage investment vehicles. Since I have started to live in Milan in 2020, I have noticed that the amount and the quality of the innovative projects are comparable to the French ones but there is a gap in terms of financing.

Therefore I have decided to create a media which aims to highlight Italian startups and make them grow in Europe.

To grow, a company – and especially a startup – needs financial but also human ressources. Thus the targets of the media are international investors and talents that could contribute to the development of the Italian startups highlighted by the media.

I have decided to call the media “Welcome” because the goal is to bring international investors and employees aboard the companies and go together on new markets.

The Real Estate market in the main European cities is unbalanced. For instance, there are 12,6 demanding people for one available flat in Paris according to a survey realized by Locservice. Paris is one of the most unbalanced markets where the demand is much higher than the supply but the other European main cities suffer from the same issue. However, the production of new residential units are limited by administrative, technical and economical reasons therefore this situation should not improve the years to come.

In addition, the survey of Locservice highlights the main negative points tenants experience in shared residential units : the dirt of the house, the distribution of the cleaning tasks among the tenants and lastly the visitation of the rooms.

The Coliving concept is a way to provide shared residential units – that can invert the current unbalanced market situation – limiting the negative points of usual shared flats. Indeed, Coliving operators usually provide cleaning service for shared and private spaces in the house and they can implement a more rigorous behaviour of the tenants than in a self-managed house. That is why Coliving is probably the future next massive Real Estate innovation as it was Coworking in the previous years.

The concept of digital money started at the beginning of the 1980s with David Chaum’s contribution. Almost one decade after, Nick Szabo introduced the idea of “smart contracts” : programmable contracts that allow the trust-less execution of codified terms without the need for a third party. In 2007 Satoshi Nakamoto started working on Bitcoin, and eight years after Vitalik Buterin, Mihai Alisie, Anthony Di Iorio, Charles Hoskinson, Amir Chetrit, Joseph Lubin, Gavin Wood and Jeffrey Wilcke founded Ethereum. The Ethereum system aims to be the best network to generate smart contacts.

In their 2013-White Paper the founders of Ethereum detailed a roadmap divided in four main phases : Frontier, Homestead, Metropolis and Serenity. 2020 is considered by the majority of the community as the beginning of Serenity and therefore to be close to the achievement of the final and complete Ethereum network.
